Why You Need A CRM Platform for Your Business

Hello, faithful readers! Today I was able to chase down our Director of Strategy to discuss all the ways that Brand Buddha suggests clients use a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Platform to sort out Email Campaigns, Paid Advertising, Social Media, and Websites.

Let’s pick Aaron Costa’s brain on the subject.

How Can A CRM Platform Help Your Business Thrive?

Amanda –

Hey, Aaron. Thanks for making the time for me today, no kidnapping necessary. Let’s dive right in. Why do you think CRM is important for our clients and for Buddha itself?

Aaron –

I’m sitting with clients in a room for the first time, and they’re asking me: How can we get better results from digital campaigns or how can we best utilize our website? The first thing I always recommend is starting with a solid CRM tool, like HubSpot. You know we just happen so happen to be a HubSpot partner. *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Amanda –

What can a CRM tool like Hubspot offer to clients that other CRM tools cannot?

Aaron –

There are other CRM tools, especially when you get to the enterprise-class, like Eloqua or Pardot that are great when you get to a certain size and scale. Ultimately, what I find there are three big benefits of CRM.

First, you have a much greater tracking ability for your campaigns as you can publish social media campaigns and monitor your active paid campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and Facebook. In addition to this, you can deploy perfectly segmented email campaigns. Ultimately, CRM provides a clear catalog of customers visiting your digital destinations. Integration of CRM provides analytics showcasing how effective outbound communications really are at driving customers through your sales funnel.

Amanda –

That transparency is incredibly important to understanding the sales process, too.

Aaron –

Yes, it definitely is. The second thing, which I know you personally care a ton about, Content Strategist, is the ability to refine communications and create increased segmentation within the CRM system, but I think you’re better qualified to explain than me.

Amanda –

You are correct, maestro of Strategy! It’s my job to ensure that all the people within segmented audiences are actually hearing the things that matter most to them. I like to think of myself as the lovechild of Professor X and Vision. Using a robust CRM system gives our team the ability to create perfectly tailored messaging geared towards a specific persona or audience, refining messaging based on user actions and personas, and personalizing those experiences down to the smallest details.

Aaron –

And I think the last point that I focus on and appreciate in these kinds of systems is your ability to really, truly determine your ROI using CRM tools. You see the cost of a Google Ad. You see the impressions that an ad has and the traffic it drives to your website and ultimately you see their purchase. In an e-commerce environment, you can see how much you’ve spent in media, the conversion point for the user, the actual product being sold, and the revenue that that media has generated.

Now you have a true idea of what it costs to sell that particular SKU for that audience segment and now you can dissect that process to see how effective your marketing messages were and how to improve them. This allows you to spend less time testing and more time categorizing insights from your users. Without a singular point of control and data in your organization, you’re flying blind.

Amanda –

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Working without a CRM platform may work sometimes, but without the CRM analytics tool to prove where your success comes from, it’s incredibly difficult to recreate that combination. You need a CRM platform for the best success.

Aaron –

Technology is your friend, people.

Amanda –

Absolutely, Skynet overlords. We’re on your side. Please don’t send the T-1000 after us. We’re you’re friends.  Aaron! Thanks for taking a few minutes to help me talk about the importance of a CRM system.

Aaron –

My pleasure Amanda, I’ll see you back at work.

There you go, friends. All the ammunition you need to invest in a CRM system that can provide your team all it needs to sell and market better. Thanks for reading our interview with Brand Buddha’s Director of Strategy, Aaron Costa. We hope you learned some great stuff and we’ll see you next time.
